Manufacturers intend induced cooling towers with specialized technology that let these towers to perform as heat exchangers in which air and water are brought into direct contact with each other to lower the temperature of water. Water that is heated by an industrial process or inside the AC condenser is pumped to the cooling tower via pipes. The water sprays inside the system through nozzles onto material banks known as fill. These banks slow the water flow through cooling tower and expose maximum water surface area for maximum air-water contact.
When the water and hot air meet, evaporation occurs that promotes cooling of the tower. The cooled water is then pumped back to the process equipment where it absorbs all heat. Different Designs Made By Manufacturing Units Every cooling tower is intended with a distinct purpose. Manufacturers have not created any "one size fits all" design type of cooling tower for industries. You can avail them in numerous sizes. #1 Cross flow cooling towers In cross flow design, the water flows vertically via the fill and the air flows horizontally across the falling water flow. Due to this, air doesn't need to pass through the distribution system, allowing the use of gravity flow hot water distribution basins that are mounted over the top of the unit above the fill. #2 Counter flow cooling towers Counter flow towers are intended by engineers to let the air flows vertically upward. Due to this vertical airflow, it is impossible to use the open, gravity-flow basins in such designs. #3 Induced draft These towers are equipped with fans that are usually mounted over the top of the unit and pull air via the fill media. These towers use more compact ground area as compared to forced draft design. These towers are ideal for large cell sizes and fan sizes. #4 Forced draft In forced draft cooling towers, air is pushed by blowers at the air inlet face base. These forced type cooling towers can be square or rectangular type only. Manufacturers of Most effective Induced cooling tower are widely accepted units as these are having ability to handle large water flow rate as compared to forced type design. It's interesting to know that cooling towers have specialized technology to make my facility cool. I think I need to buy some fill media from a good manufacturer so that the draft will be cool. My staff just told me that we have an induced draft cooling tower, so I'll have to buy appropriate media for that.

It's interesting to know how induced draft air-cooled heat exchangers are best for larger cooling towers due to their design. It's also quite interesting to me just how many different types of cooling systems there are. I used to work in a plant where the cooling system was similar to these and I was always curious as to how they worked. It's great that your article sated my curiosity.
